Seeking Public Comments regarding Papke’s Landing Marine Facility Improvements Conceptual Design

The Petersburg Borough Assembly is seeking comments from Borough residents regarding a conceptual design for improvements to the Papke’s Landing Marine Facility.

PAPKE'S LANDING MARINE FACILITY CONCEPTUAL DESIGN DOCUMENT

The facility is currently owned by the State of Alaska (DNR and DOT) and is in need of maintenance and improvements to keep the facility functional.  The Assembly is considering accepting ownership of the facility from the State of Alaska (at their request) if future funding can be secured to make the needed improvements.  The Assembly contracted with Harai & Associates, Inc. to draw up conceptual plans for an overhaul of the facility in order to be “shovel ready” if federal or state funding becomes available for transportation or infrastructure projects.  Please note - this project is NOT currently moving forward but is instead being considered as a long-term plan and will need approval of the Assembly to move forward in the future.

Please share comments and/or ideas for improvements to the Papke’s Landing facility by:

            1)  Emailing comments to the Assembly at assembly@petersburgak.gov or dthompson@petersburgak.gov;

            2)  Mailing comments to PO Box 329, Petersburg, AK 99833; or

            3)  Dropping comments off at the front desk of the Municipal Building located at 12 S. Nordic Drive.
