Scope of Procurement

The Petersburg Borough, dba Petersburg Municipal Power and Light,  is seeking bids to procure 11kV switchgear for Scow Bay Generator #2.  This procurement generally consists of furnishing a specification compliant set of 11kV Metalclad Switchgear and shipping it to Petersburg Alaska. 

Switchgear technical specifications can be obtained from the Petersburg Power and Light department, 11 South Nordic Drive, for a fee of $20.00 or the project documents may be downloaded below at no charge. All contractors must complete the Contractor Notification Form.  Downloading Contract Documents from the Petersburg Borough website requires completing a bid advertisement form to receive changes or addenda.  

Estimate for the procurement:  $200,000 - $300,000.

Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Petersburg Power and Light Building at 11 S. Nordic Drive in Petersburg.  The bids will be opened publicly in the Power and Light conference room immediately following this deadline. Bids submitted electronically will not be accepted, however bid modifications will be accepted up until the bid opening by emailing to khagerman@petersburgak.gov . Bid modifications shall not divulge the total bid price but shall only indicate the adjustment to be made to the sealed bid. 

The bidder awarded this procurement will be issued a purchase order that references the technical specifications and the offeror’s bid proposal in order to proceed.
