Voting
Voter qualifications for the Petersburg Borough October 7, 2025 Municipal Election are as follows:
- A United States citizen
- Registered and qualified to vote in the State of Alaska elections and registered at least thirty days immediately preceding the municipal election;
- At least eighteen (18) years of age;
- A resident of the Petersburg Borough for thirty (30) days preceding the election;
- Not disqualified by reason of having been convicted of a felony involving moral turpitude, and if so, that civil rights have been restored.
The last day to register and qualify for the October 7, 2025 Municipal Election is Sunday, September 7, 2025. Register to vote online. Voter registration forms are available at the front desk of the Borough Administration/Finance office, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Ways to vote in the October 7, 2025 Petersburg Borough Election:
Vote Early In Person

September 17 – October 6, 2025 at noon
Monday–Friday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Where:
Municipal Building (Downstairs), 12 S Nordic Drive. Don’t forget your ID!
Final Day for Early Voting: Monday, October 6 — 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Vote By Mail
Absentee ballots can be requested January 1, 2025 - October 2, 2025 at 4:30pm.
Complete the Absentee-by-Mail Ballot Application and return the signed application to the Clerk no later than October 2, 2025 at 4:30pm using any of the submission methods listed below.

Vote on Election Day
The 2025 Borough Election will be held Tuesday, October 7 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm in the Parks and Recreation Activity Room at 500 North 3rd St. Don’t forget to bring your identification!
