Truck Traffic Advisory: Subdivision Work Near Haugen & 12th
Construction activity for the expansion of the Tlingit-Haida Airport Subdivision will commence the week of May 4, 2026. Heavy truck traffic and construction equipment will be entering and exiting the area between the intersection of Haugen and 12th Street and the work site, including Howkan Street.
Please drive with extra caution:
- Slow down and watch for trucks at all intersections and driveways
- Be especially alert for children, pedestrians, and wildlife
- Observe all traffic control devices
- Allow extra following distance and avoid passing trucks in residential zones
- Expect possible temporary delays or flaggers directing traffic
