The CodeRED system provides the Petersburg Borough with the ability to quickly deliver messages to targeted areas or the entire borough.  While primarily used to alert and advise the community in the event of an emergency situation, CodeRED also enables general messages to be sent that inform Petersburg’s residents of pertinent and valuable information in regard to issues that may only concern a portion of the community, such as utility account issues and planned utility outages.  Since this is a geographically based system, accurate addresses and phone numbers are required for it to work effectively.
